Description
Cascade Gold is a masterclass in light and tranquility by renowned wildlife artist Rod Frederick. This expansive panoramic work features a Great Blue Heron—the official bird of Portland, Oregon—standing poised amidst a marshland during the "golden hour." Frederick expertly captures the fleeting, amber glow of a Pacific Northwest sunset reflecting off the water's surface, creating a scene that is both serene and majestic.
The artist’s background in biology is evident in the precise anatomical detail of the heron and the atmospheric accuracy of the environment. Published by The Greenwich Workshop in 1996, this print is highly sought after for its calming palette and its ability to bring the vast, quiet beauty of the Cascades into an interior space.
