Artwork Description

"The Gift" is a poignant and masterfully executed offset lithograph by celebrated wildlife and sporting artist Linda Daniels. Originally released in 1998 through Hadley House, this work belongs to the highly sought-after "It’s a Dog’s World" series. The composition captures the gentle, soulful essence of its canine subjects with the meticulous detail and "eye contact" that became Daniels' hallmark.

The piece utilizes a soft, naturalistic color palette to evoke a sense of warmth and loyalty. As a hand-signed and numbered limited edition (968/999), this print offers a level of collectibility and tactile connection to the artist that open-edition posters lack. Having been stored flat in a professional environment since its acquisition, the paper remains crisp with vibrant color saturation and no evidence of previous framing or UV exposure.

Provenance & Authentication

We provide a 100% Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity for this work. Sourced in mid-2023 from the retiring custom picture framer in Louisburg, NC. All (or most) prints were signed limited edition prints in a new and unframed mint condition.

Artist Biography

Born in Milwaukee and later finding her creative home in the hills of Oklahoma, Linda Daniels has earned national acclaim for her ability to translate the emotional depth of animals onto paper and canvas. Her career was transformed when she moved from traditional wildlife subjects to domestic breeds, leading to her famous collaboration with Hadley House.

Daniels is a former "Artist of the Year" for both the Timberwolf Alliance and Ducks Unlimited, and her work has been featured in the "Arts for the Parks" Top 100 Tour. Her philosophy—that animals share the same complex emotions as humans—is evident in every stroke, making her one of the most recognizable names in late 20th-century animal realism.
