Known as the "Storyteller of the Native American," Howard Terpning is one of the most lauded painters of Western art in history. Since leaving a successful career in commercial illustration in the 1970s, he has dedicated his life to documenting the history and culture of the Plains Indian. Terpning is a member of the Cowboy Artists of America and has received numerous gold medals and "Best in Show" awards at the Prix de West. His work is prized for its historical accuracy, vibrant palette, and profound empathy.
